In the late 1960's and early 1970's Bletchley Youth Centre was a thriving lively place. All the usual youth centre stuff happened, football, Friday night disco, coffee bar. Where this youth centre differed was it's leaders and members. We the youth were encouraged to be creative, adventurous and active. To many us our passion was the music of the day. We often piled in vans to travel to gigs. About once a fortnight, for about 9 months of the year, on Sunday's, the bands came to us. Those nights the youth centre became Esmeralda's.
